Spring Time Ketubah
The ardent poetry found in Song of Songs – celebrating nature’s bounty and romantic love – serves as the point of departure for this artwork. It provides for all the ornamental elements in this splendid three-layered ketubah.
The design weaves together powerful verses of love:
-
“I went down to the grove of walnut trees… to see whether the grapevines had budded.” (Song of Songs 6:11)
-
“Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it.” (Song of Songs 8:7)
-
“Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm.” (Song of Songs 8:6)
Spring, the season evocative of love and renewal, of sitting under blossoming trees and inhaling their fragrance, is implicit in the lovely Springtime ketubah. It reminds us that the marriage commitment gives us moments of innocence that sustain us for all seasons to come.
