Green Park Ketubah
Five identical trees in a row create a verdant panorama that caps the text and wedding vows of the Green Park Ketubah. The repetition of the tree motif gives the artwork a naïve quality as succinct and as eloquent as a Haiku poem.
Symbolism of the Trees: Trees represent life, wisdom, fertility, and prosperity. In Judaism, hamsa (five–as in the fingers on one hand) is considered good luck and protection from harm’s way. Therefore, these five trees—as well as being delightful to the eye—should prove to be pretty auspicious, too.
